Man kan lære noe nytt hver dag. Har lurt på hva det egentlig betydde. Svært aktuellt for helikopterpiloter.
n00b
A inexperienced and/or ignorant or unskilled person. Especially used in computer games.
"Haha that n00b got pwned".
Derogatory term for a player lacking in skill who is typically a recent addition to the community of the game at which they are being called a n00b. A term which has lesser acceptance today, primarily because of overusage and a lack of validity. Simply put, most players regard insults such as "n00b" as little more than juvenille attempts at offending another player. Ironically, players who use the term "n00b" disparagingly are often themselves considered to be more of neophytes than those insulted. Chronic users of this term will oftentimes excuse their usage of it by distinguishing the class of "n00b" into subgroups, such as temp n00b, forever n00b, and similar terms. These terms are, however, nowhere near as common as the original word "n00b", and there is no standard usage; the terms are rarely applied unless the term user is forced to distinguish the "subclasses" of "n00b". As such, primary usage varies from time to time and may be completely different from game to game. Terms may locally be common, but few global variations on "n00b" exist.
USAGE NOTE: A similar term, n00bshop, was originally introduced and defined as any server that contains a lot of "n00bs", as if it is producing them. This term is now used nearly interchangeably with "n00b" in some cases, but some view its usage as either satirical-only or irrelevant, and it is not used universally.
