SilentHeroes v.1.2 is now released
Posted by Zarkow on Fri Dec 19, 2008 at 20:57

Head on over to the download page and get your copy of SilentHeroes v.1.2.

Server package over ftp and client for download over torrent is now up. The client patch is next and as soon as the gremlings stop eating my TCP packets the full client installer will arrive for ftp-download too.

Update: Slim-Pack Patch is now up. This patch requires that you have the full install of v.1.1 already installed and either have or will take the new included maps on the side yourself. Only added now as a favour to speed up the patching-process this late Friday.

Update: Full Client patch is now up. It's designed to be used on a clean v.1.1 installation, so if you already have the map SH_Nastet.rfa installed please remove it before proceeding. This patch contains an updated version of it from what is publicly available from other sources.

Update: Now the full installation is mirrored from ftp and http too.

Update: MAC Package (all files rar'ed) is now also up.

5 year anniversary the 19th of Dec celebrated with an update
Posted by Zarkow on Sun Dec 07, 2008 at 05:30

Team SH is proud to announce:
SilentHeroes's 5 year anniversary the 19th of December is celebrated with a release of version 1.2!

In 2003 we set out to create a fun mod aimed at a regional battle between the bordering brother-countries of Sweden and Norway. While initial research and testing began in February of 2003 it took a some weeks before we knew that the engine was something we could work with and the first additional interested team-members was found, rapidly increasing the count from the two of us at the time.

Due to many months of hard work we had our first version ready for release on the Friday the 19th of December 2003.

To celebrate this coming 5 year anniversary of our MOD we today announce that on the Friday the 19th of December 2008, the anniversary day itself, we will be releasing an update to the MOD, version 1.2.

Help us spread the word - some people are still playing Battlefield 1942!

SH:Viking Assault being developed for World in Conflict
Posted by Zarkow on Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 20:15

While the SilentHeroes-project started as a FPS we have always been very interested in expanding the experience into other genres. And over the years several conceptual mods have been done or started for several games. In most cases the feeling we got from the tests was that the engines at hands wouldn't give the gaming experience and feeling we where looking for. Until now.

While SH was done for the BF42-engine, developed by the at the time Swedish studio DICE, our next SH-projects game-engine is infact also developed by a Swedish studio. But the reason for choosing to develope a mod for World in Conflict, by Massive Entertainment, has nothing to do with the origin of the developers however. Its just that we find both the original game and the mod-experience so much fun that it becomes the obious choice. The game is just that good.

So it's official: SH:VA is in development, for the game World in Conflict.

And here is some screenshots taken in medium quality. Yes, will make sure it's in high quality in the future...

As a side-note, one of our newer teammembers of the SH:VA Team, Krakel, has taken some beautiful highquality screenshots from the development of a map for the mod. They can be found in the VIP-section of the forum.
